Narai-juku, Nagano

Nakasendo was one of the five major travel routes of the Edo period, and one of the two that connected Edo (modern-day Tokyo) to Kyoto.
In Kiso area (between Nagano and Gifu prefectures) there are many inn towns from the Edo period, situated on both sides of of Nakasendo road.

In Narai-juku, there are many traditional Japanese restaurants.
Tokuri-ya is one of the famous folk museums in Narai-juku.You can enjoy Soba and Gohei-mochi (rice cake of Kiso style) there.
